活動(dòng)簡(jiǎn)介

More than 3500 pulsars have been discovered over 55 years, with different manifestations detected by different technologies and telescopes. They have been detected over a wide electromagnetic wave range, from long-wavelength radio bands to high-energy gamma-rays. Significant progress has been made in understanding the observed radiation and possible geometries of emission regions, the particle acceleration and radiation propagation in the neutron star magnetosphere, the state of matter and internal structure of the neutron stars or quark stars, the subtle effects of the general relativity and gravity theory revealed from the observations of exquisite stable pulses, the properties of the interstellar and intergalactic medium probed by polarized pulses. In addition to the continuing long-term science contributions from the Arecibo telescope (before it was ceased), the Green-Bank telescope (GBT), the Effelsberg 100m telescope, the Parkes 64m telescopes, the GMRT, and also the FERMI in the sky, there have been remarkable achievements on pulsar discoveries and other related pulsar physics in recent years made by the newly built telescopes, such as the FAST, the LOFAR, the MeerKAT, the LPA. In recent years, few international conferences have focused on pulsar physics, except for the pulsar-related conference on the charming detection of gravitational waves. Therefore, it is a good time to have a specific international pulsar conference for a gathering of all pulsar astronomers over the world, to discuss the most updated situation of pulsar observations and the cutting-edge understanding of pulsar physics. During the conference, a special excursion is organized to see the giant radio telescope, FAST.
